It was the day when the idea of civil society in Bosnia and Herzegovina was both born and killed at the same time. It was a unique moment of triumph of civic consciousness that recognized the danger of a vampiric nationalism that was rapidly arming itself. However, the hope the citizens in the Assembly gave to their homeland was short-lived and was trampled on that same day. Almost seventeen years later, it seems like the right time to investigate the crime that occured on April 5th. What actually happened on this day? Were the events in front of the Assembly an organized civil action or a spontaneous gathering of concerned individuals aware of the ruin that B&H is heading towards? Was this act doomed in advance? How honest was it really?
