Mila Janković is a girl who disappeared in May 1992 when Serbian military forces entered her town of Caparde in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Fifty villagers, including her mother Senada and older sister Sanda, disappeared or were killed. For sixteen years, it was believed that the then nine-month-old Senida suffered the same fate. This is evidenced by the monument to the murdered and missing, which is located in the nearby town of Hajvazi, and on which Senida’s name is engraved. However, Senida’s story continued. In 1993, little Senida was placed in the Belgrade Janković family, in the home of Živka and Živan, but under another name - Mila Janković.
