When his children are taken away from him due to poverty, Nikola leaves his small village in the south of Serbia and heads to Belgrade. Driven by love and despair, he’s a father who refuses to give up on his pursuit for justice and the right to raise his own children. Along the way, he experiences a transformation from an underdog on the margins to a hero of our times.
